About us

The Institute for the Development of Vocational Training for Workers (ISFOL) is a national research institute with a specific focus onvocational education and training (VET), employment and social policies and a strong commitment to promoting employment, social inclusion, skills and human capital development as well as at fostering growth and innovation.

 Isfol reports to the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and provides support to the central government and local authorities. Isfol also acts as in-house agency for the Ministry and is entrusted with the management of relevant national contracts in its fields of expertise. In fact, since the 1990s, ISFOL has been providing technical assistance (TA) to EU-funded programmes and initiatives (PETRA Community Action Programme; EMPLOYMENT and ADAPT Community Initiative Programmes (CIP); EQUAL CIP and Erasmus+ VET). 

At present, Isfol is a National Agency Erasmus-Plus VET, and Europass National Centre.

 Isfol is a member of the following European networks:

• National Reference Point for Quality
• National Coordination Point for EQF (European Qualification Framework)
• National Coordination Point for Europass
• Co-ordinator of the ReferNet National Consortium.

 
Isfol is Local Contact Point for the Eurodesk Network and National Centre of Resources for Guidance, located at its Benevento Branch Office. 

 Isfol cooperates with the European Commission, Cedefop and the Eurofund as well as with other international organizations (OECD,ILO, etc.) and several national research centres and agencies (CEREQ, BIBB, etc.).

Isfol is a member of the national statistical system (SISTAN) and produces statistical information.
